Wolf Garden, marketed as a werewolf movie blending elements of “An American Werewolf in London” and “Vertigo,” takes a minimalist approach. Special effects are replaced with a slow-burning psychological thriller. Writer/director Wayne David portrays William, a man plagued by the consequences of a disastrous countryside trip with his girlfriend Chantelle. The narrative weaves through past, present, nightmares, and a distorted sense of reality, leaving viewers guessing. While some may appreciate the fragmented storytelling and the anticipated ending, I found it difficult to engage with the uninteresting characters and the film’s overall mundane execution.
